By accessing or using MealShare ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

MealShare is an AI-powered meal planning application that helps families discover meals, create weekly meal plans, and generate grocery lists based on each family member's dietary preferences, allergies, and cuisine preferences. The Service is currently in pre-launch; features may change before and after general availability.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. Parents or legal guardians may add family profiles for children under 18.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at support@mealshare.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep this information up to date.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or its related systems.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without our written permission.
• Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Submit false or misleading dietary or allergy information that could harm other users.

6. AI-Generated Content

Meal suggestions, weekly plans, and grocery lists are generated by AI and are provided for informational and convenience purposes only. MealShare does not guarantee the nutritional accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated meal recommendations for any individual's specific health conditions or medical needs.

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you or a family member has medical conditions, severe allergies, or specific nutritional requirements. You assume full responsibility for verifying ingredient information and allergen data before preparing or consuming any meal.

7. Allergy and Dietary Information Disclaimer

While MealShare allows users to input allergy and dietary restriction information, we cannot guarantee that AI-generated meal suggestions will be free from specific allergens. Cross-contamination risks and ingredient variations are beyond our control. Users with severe allergies or anaphylactic reactions must independently verify all ingredients and consult a medical professional.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by MealShare and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

Content you submit (such as meal ratings and feedback) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant MealShare a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and process it for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEALSHARE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MealShare and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12 survive termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction, as determined by MealShare.
